The Harris County M.U.D. #130 will hold a public hearing on the proposed tax rate for the 2024 tax year. The meeting is scheduled for October 1, 2024, at 11:30 a.m. and will be held at 8515 Willancy Lane, Houston, Texas 77095.

Proposed Tax Rate Analysis

The proposed tax rate for 2024 remains unchanged from last year at $0.29000 per $100 of value. Here’s how the rate impacts homeowners:

  • Average Appraised Value: Increased from $262,772 last year to $283,522 this year.
  • Average Taxable Value: Increased from $210,218 to $226,818.
  • Tax on Average Residence: Increased from $609.63 to $657.77.
  • Annual Increase: If the proposed rate is adopted, the average homeowner will see a tax increase of $48.14, or 7.89%.

Additional Information

If the district adopts a combined tax rate that results in taxes on the average residence homestead increasing by more than eight percent, qualified voters may petition for an election to reduce the rate.
